TASTING NOTES Bota Box Zinfandel is round and full of vigor, with a nose of black cherry, black pepper and baked plum. It’s rustic in its balance of blackberry and toasty sage, leading to a deep and fruit-forward finish. PAIRS WITH Raise a glass of Bota Zinfandel with roast pork tenderloin or grilled bacon cheese burgers on date night. WINE DETAILS Alcohol:  13.5%

Bottle Image May Vary Since our first vintage in 1987, the Jack London Zinfandel vineyard has produced flavorful wines with excellent fruit and well-rounded tannins. The climatic conditions and long, cool growing season of Sonoma Mountain create complexity and balance in the fruit. The influence of the vineyard’s red volcanic soil and the fruity characteristics of the grapes combine to produce an outstanding and distinctive Zinfandel.

Sourced from two of California’s best regions for Zinfandel: San Joaquin County and Sonoma County. The warm growing season and sandy soils of San Joaquin County produce Zinfandel with rich, peppery aromas that are the ideal balance with the concentrated ripe fruit characteristics from grapes in Sonoma County. The 2018 vintage was mild and dry allowing extended hang-time without worry of rain or desiccation. We fermented vineyard blocks from both regions separately and after oak aging, chose the best wines to combine for this unique blend.

The palate is mouthwatering and smooth with a hint of chocolate. The finish is voluptuous with soft, velvety tannins. Varietal: 85% zinfandel, 15% blend of petite sirah and syrah. Awards: 93 Points - Tasting Panel Crafted With Grapes Sourced From Lodi's Best Zinfandel Vineyards, The Specialyst Transcends The Ordinary. Heady Aromas Of Ripe Black Cherries And Warm Cinnamon Reveal Bold Blackberry And Spiced Plum Flavors Cloaked In Toasted Vanilla. Smooth And Full-Bodied With A Lingering Finish, The Specialyst Is A Truly Out-Of-This-World Experience. Our Wine Is Delicious On Its Own And Will Also Pair Perfectly With Grilled Vegetables And Meats, Hearty Pastas And Aged Cheeses. Our Zinfandel Grapes Were Harvested In The Last Two Weeks Of September And Our Petite Sirah In The Second Week Of October. Both Varietals Were Fermented To Dry In Stainless Steel Tanks. After A 6 Day Maceration To Extract The Classic Varietal Characteristics, Wine Was Pressed Off Of Skins Followed By A Full Malo-Lactic Fermentation. The Specialyst Zinfandel Aged In A Combination Of American And French Oak Barrels (30% New) That Were Perfectly Matched To Each Vineyard's Character For 9 Months.
